My mate
A little while ago we found out that my mate had gone out and had dinner with a group of his friends. Among the people he had gone out with, one was a prostitute, and none of them were Christians. When his church leadership questioned him about the issue, he said that they were being hypocritical and that he was being a witness to them.
Do you reckon he is showing appropriate behaviour?

Your story is rather scantily clad... We know no details. We don't know anything about your mate, we don't know anything about what the leadership said in their rebuke, we don't know what the mate was doing with this group of people...
On the surface, it seems a simple case of pharisee-ism, and indeed, it may be that. It may also be a case of wisdom.
I can think of two separate Biblical premises that, given more facts, could be applied.
First, that of Jesus eating with "sinners and tax collectors". I think that this demonstrates that it is not a sin to eat with non-christians of all walks of life.
Secondly, I think of the idea of fleeing from sin, just as Joseph did with Potipher's wife. Was your mate being tempted into sin? Let wisdom speak for herself.
Seriously? They questioned him about having dinner with non Christians? I don't see the problem. Maybe I should get rid of my non Chirstian friends, in case I catch something.
Do you really think we're getting the full story?
Yes, a little more info is needed Phil
